The newly renovated Theos Chapel and Altar were blessed by Rev. Bishop John Rodrigues, marking a significant spiritual milestone for the community. Following the religious ceremony, a joyous feast was enjoyed by all, including numerous invited guests like the Sequeira Brothers (Wood works co. who made the new Altar and Lectern.) Following the religious service, the national flag was hoisted with reverence, accompanied by the singing of the national anthem. The Holy Eucharist was held at the Papal Seminary Chapel, presided over by Fr. George Beck, SJ. A large number of faithful attended the event. The choir, led by the Papal Seminary brothers from the Chotanagpur region, added to the solemnity of the occasion. During the Eucharistic celebration, special prayers were offered for all mothers, asking for their well-being and acknowledging their countless contributions and dedication to their families. Throughout the Mass, mothers were actively involved, taking part in various rituals such as the introduction, entrance procession, readings, prayers of the faithful, and thanksgiving. In his homily, Fr. George emphasized the vital role mothers play in raising their children, managing the household and leading family prayers. He also highlighted the sacrifice, dedication, and unceasing prayer life of St. Monica. The atmosphere was prayerful, and all the faithful participated devoutly in the Mass. After the Mass, a cultural program was held in honour of the mothers. The mothers were respectfully escorted to the Papal Seminary Hall in a procession, where they were honoured by the youth. Several cultural performances were presented by brothers, sisters, and youth. It was a joyful occasion for everyone as we expressed our love and gratitude to our mothers for their service to humanity. The event was a moment of grace. Following the cultural program, lunch was served in the DNC refectory and Hall. The celebration concluded at around 5:15 PM, with everyone joyfully coming together in dance. A vibrant and meaningful Eucharistic celebration in the Syro-Malabar rite, led by Fr. Chacko Nadakkeveliyil, marked the beginning of the event. The celebration was followed by informative video presentations showcasing the rich cultures and ministries of both provinces. The cultural evening concluded with a traditional Monti Fest meal. The South Zone Cultural Evening successfully merged the celebrations of Onam and Monti Fest into a single event. Dn. Pavan Vinay shared touching reflections on his time at DNC, expressing gratitude for the cherished memories he had made. As a token of appreciation, each Deacon received a small gift. The Chotanagpur Adivasi Association (CAA) celebrated the Karam feast on the 22nd of September in a grand way. It began with the Eucharistic celebration, celebrated by the most Rev. Bishop of Pune (name) in the chapel of Papal Seminary. After the Eucharistic celebration there was a cultural programme arranged in the De Nobili College, ground. The chief guest of the event was the Rev. Bishop himself. It was a big crowd. Many Christian and non-Christian Adivasis dwelling in Pune gathered to participate in the event. Different groups of Women and men in traditional dress presented Karam dance. It was so good to see them performing it.
