A significant moment of grace and commitment was witnessed as Fr. Clement J. Santhanam, SJ (MDU) pronounced his Final Vows in the Society of Jesus on the feast of the Queenship of the Blessed Virgin Mary, 22 August. The solemn Eucharistic celebration was presided over by Fr. Jerome Stanislaus D’Souza, SJ (POSA). The occasion marked an important milestone in Fr. Clement’s Jesuit journey, as he made his definitive commitment to the Society of Jesus and its mission. The celebration was marked by prayer and gratitude, as the community rejoiced with Fr. Clement and accompanied him in this significant moment of his vocation.

Feast of St. Ignatius of Loyola Celebrated at De Nobili College

De Nobili College joyfully celebrated the Feast of St. Ignatius of Loyola, founder of the Society of Jesus, on 31 July 2026. The celebration began with the Eucharistic celebration, with Fr. Jerome Cutinha, SJ, Rector of De Nobili College, as the principal celebrant. He was joined at the altar by Fr. Boniface, SJ, and Fr. Ivan, SJ, as co-celebrants. In his homily, Fr. Jerome invited the Jesuit scholastics and the gathered faithful to renew their commitment to the Ignatian ideals of service, discernment, and finding God in all things.

Following the Mass, Fr. Jerome Cutinha, SJ, blessed the newly constructed basketball court, marking a significant addition to the college campus and providing a new space for recreation, fellowship, and community life.

The celebrations concluded with a high tea, where students from the various houses of De Nobili College came together in a spirit of joy and fraternity to mark the feast of their founder. The occasion was a meaningful celebration of the Ignatian charism and the vibrant community life of the college.

De Nobili College warmly welcomed its new scholastics through a series of Orientation Days designed to introduce them to the life, mission, and community of the college. The program combined informative sessions with recreational activities, helping the newcomers transition smoothly into their new environment.

The orientation included sessions on the vision and values of De Nobili College, community living, campus guidelines, and the expectations of formation. A guided campus tour familiarized the scholastics with the facilities, while interactive discussions provided an opportunity to ask questions and become acquainted with college life.

To foster fraternity and team spirit, the program featured fun games, community-building activities, and a friendly basketball match. The scholastics also enjoyed a Pune Darshan, exploring some of the city's important landmarks and gaining a greater appreciation of their new surroundings.

The Orientation Days concluded on a joyful note, laying the foundation for meaningful friendships and a shared journey of intellectual, spiritual, and personal formation at De Nobili College.
